Sports Massage Practitioners

Rosie (Julia) Kerridge - AAF, SMA

Rosie is a qualified sports and remedial massage practitioner and is a registered member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA), the governing body for sports massage practitioners in the UK. She is also a member of Active Foundation, a registered charity for disabled children which offer massage services at high profile music and sporting events.

As well working as part of the Wellness academy, Rosie works in premier rugby and supports Active Foundation in fundraising activities.

Sophie Williams BSc, dip. PT, SMT level 3

Sophie has recently completed her degree in Sport & Exercise Science at Bath, a course renowned in the UK for its rigorous academic training in the basic sciences with comprehensive application to the fields of sport, health and exercise, and has presented work internationally, including the European Space Agency.

She also holds the nationally recognised Premier International diploma in personal training and sports massage.

Sophie has been using her sports massage qualification with the athletics team at Bath, as captain, as part of the on-field sport therapy team, as well as some freelance work.

During her year out she trained as a cross country runner in Canada, reaching final status for her team, before working in applied sports with athletes at the Scottish Institute of Sport.

She has been working as a fitness instructor at Wildmoor as part of the initial team since opening in August 2005.

Danielle Hinves BSc hons, dip SMT Level 4

Danielle completed a degree in Sports & Exercise Sciences at The University of Gloucestershire in 2006. During her last year at University she was given the Club Captaincy of the Women’s Volleyball Club, which also gave her a scholarship enabling her to work with professional football teams performing rigorous fitness testing allowing the opportunity to understand the needs of the elite athletes.

She also holds a nationally recognised Sports Performance Services diploma in Sports Massage; this is an accredited qualification with the Sports Massage Association and was gained in June 2007.

Danielle has used her Sports massage qualification to volunteer for the Geoff Thomas Foundation when they completed the ‘Tour De France’ in summer 2007, massaging the cyclists before and after everyday cycling. Some of the cyclists were recovering Leukaemia sufferers and some included ex-professional footballer friends of Geoff Thomas.

Danielle has been working freelance seen she qualified in June 2007 as well as working with athletes at 10-km Road Races, Triathlons and also professional dancers performing in Aladdin at the Birmingham Hippodrome.

Danielle joined the Wellness Academy team in January 2008.
