Melanie Betts is a chartered manipulative physiotherapist, specialising in spinal problems and sports injuries with a specific interest in shoulders.
Melanie has been a qualified physiotherapist for seventeen years. She has a post-graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and an MSc in Manipulative Therapy. Previously, she has worked within the NHS in the UK and practiced in America. She is now based in private practice.
Melanie has been involved in various sports medicine roles and has provided physiotherapy services for Dewsbury RFC, The World Student Games (1995) and The World Figure Skating Championship (1995). She worked with the Great Britain Swimming Team from 1995-1999, and has been the governing body physiotherapist for the Great Britain Target Shooting Team since 2001. She supported this team at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 and Melbourne in 2006, and the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
As well as using joint mobilisation/manipulation and soft tissue treatments, Melanie is qualified to use acupuncture for pain relief in musculo-skeletal conditions.
