Podiatry (& prescription orthotics)
Podiatrists are specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle problems. However, owing to the foot's unique interaction with the lower limb, podiatrists are often involved in the treatment of injuries affecting the lower back, hips, knees and shins. The structure of your foot supports your entire weight. The slightest misalignment of muscles and bones can lead to many different problems.
The symptoms of faulty foot mechanics may begin with any of the following:-
Localised foot pain, bunions, hammer toes, arch pain, heel, leg, knee, hip, back or even neck pain.
Computerised dynamic gait analysis
We use a TOG Gaitscan to get a complete picture of how the feet function ina weight‑bearing and moving situation. By standing and walking on a pressure mat sensorsin the mat can locate areas of poor foot function. This information can then be used to fabricate a pair of prescription orthotics to restore correct foot function.
