Physiotherapy is concerned with human performance, movement and maximising potential. It uses physical approaches to promote, maintain & restore physical, psychological and social well-being, taking into account variations in health status. It is science-based, and clinical practice is founded on strong research evidence
Physiotherapists are trained to diagnose problems with the joints and soft tissues of the body, and will carry out a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for your particular problem.
They use a wide variety of treatment modalities to help restore your normal function, well-being and to maximise your health and performance potential. Treatments include joint manipulation & mobilisations, soft tissue manipulation & massage, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy and acupuncture.
Physiotherapy can treat a wide range of conditions, including: back and neck pain; whiplash; sports injuries; post-operative management following joint replacement, spinal surgery, or limb fractures; arthritic conditions; even complaints such as migraines and chronic headaches.
